Sony Launched Cyber-Shot RX10 in India for Rs 84,990 | See Specification

| comments

Sony Launched their new camera named as Cyber-Shot RX10 in India but their price is high for local people as company decide their price as Rs. 84,990 INR.

It revives the large-sensor, long-zoom concept of the R1, but utilizing the same 1"-type BSI CMOS sensor, meaning it can offer a balance of high image quality and long zoom in a sensibly sized package. In this case it means the RX10 is able to offer a 24-200mm equivalent F2.8 lens.

That relatively big sensor means the RX10 is not a small camera - it's about the height and width of a small DSLR and, though its body is slimmer than that, its 8.3x lens adds a stout, weighty bulk to the proceedings.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 Key Features

  • 20MP 1"-type BSI CMOS sensor (13.2 x 8.8mm)
  • 24-200mm equivalent stabilized F2.8 lens
  • Built-in 3-EV Neutral Density filter
  • Flip-out, 1.3m dot (VGA resolution) rear LCD
  • 1.14m dot OLED viewfinder
  • ISO 125 - 12,800 (expandable down to ISO 80)
  • Approx 10fps continuous shooting in 'Speed Priority mode'
  • Wi-Fi with NFC for easier connection (with compatible devices)

More Specifications......

The RX10 also becomes the first Sony to feature a 'Direct Drive SSM' focus motor, which uses piezoelectric materials to position the focus element, rather than linear motors. The company says this allows the lens to be both moved and stopped more accurately - reducing focus times. The lens also has a pretty reasonable close-focus distance, that increases from 3cm at the wide-angle end to 30cm at the other extreme (giving magnification ratio of 0.45x and 0.38x respectively).

The more powerful processor not only promises more detailed JPEGs, it also allows the camera to use every pixel to create its video, rather than having to sub-sample the sensor as most DSLRs do.

Samsung Galaxy 5S Rumours : Come in Curved Shape

| comments

A video posted on YouTube has been released showing what the Samsung Galaxy S5 could look like and what features it will have.

The unofficial concept designed to blow the iPhone out of the water shows off a curved display, super HD screen and 16-megapixel camera.

The video, created by YouTube user O2 Guru TV, is an impressive concept. It's a sleek, aluminum and glass, handset that curves from top to bottom to fit the face, plus a 5-inch display with double the resolution of the iPhone 5S.

It suggests the Galaxy S5 will be able to "flex," pack three times the phone memory of the iPhone and also come with a 16-megapixel camera that can shoot 4K (which is four times the quality of Full HD).

There isn't the wraparound display that Samsung recently patented, but it could have the option to unlock the phone using a retina scan. Of course, this is all hearsay, and more a wish list rather than actual fact. But it's a nice 3D mock-up nonetheless.

Speculation is heating up that Samsung will release the Galaxy S5 very early in 2014, there's even rumor that it could be unveiled at the mega gadget show CES in January.

FCC Wants to Allow Mobiles During Flight in US

| comments

Federal Communications Commission of United States wants that mobiles phones should be allow during the fly in the air. As we all know that we can't make calls, can't pick call, can't text to anyone during the fly, even we have to put our mobile on switching off mode during the fly.

Cell phone calls, texting and other mobile services would be allowed when the aircraft are flying above 10,000 feet, but not during takeoff and landing, according to an official briefed on the proposal.

The commission says on this proposal that...
Our aims to give airline passengers the same communication access in the air that they have on trains and buses or in coffee shops.

"Modern technologies can deliver mobile services in the air safely and reliably, and the time is right to review our outdated and restrictive rules," FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said in a statement. "I look forward to working closely with my colleagues, the FAA and the airline industry on this review of new mobile opportunities for consumers."

The new guidelines would let airlines install special equipment to relay wireless signals from the plane to the ground, likely by way of a satellite connection. A similar system already exists in Europe. Last week, the European Commission approved passengers’ use of 3G and 4G data from airplanes as well.

Samsung Will Have to Pay $290m to Apple for Copying Cell Phones

| comments

As we all know that Samsung mostly copied all phones f Apple whether it is first Galaxy 3 OR it's latest anyone set. So,  A Silicon Valley jury has ruled that Samsung must pay $290m to Apple for copying iPhone and iPad features in its devices.

This verdict comes after a previous jury found Samsung owed Apple $1.05bn for copyright infringement.

However, US District Judge Lucy Koh ordered a retrial because she said that jury miscalculated the amount Samsung must pay.

Samsung is Expected to Appeal

Apple said in a statement:
"For Apple, this case has always been about more than patents and money. It has been about innovation and the hard work that goes into inventing products that people love.

"While it's impossible to put a price tag on those values, we are grateful to the jury for showing Samsung that copying has a cost."

The jury's ruling covers 13 of the 26 Samsung devices that Apple had argued copied its technology. These are mostly older Samsung tablets and smartphones.

The $290m figure comes on top of the $550m Samsung owes Apple as a result of the initial verdict. In total, Apple has now been awarded close to $930m in the case.

Apple shares traded slightly higher on the news. Samsung closed down slightly earlier in the day.

Samsung had argued that Apple should not have ownership over technology like what Samsung said was the "basic rectangle" shape of smartphones.

"Apple doesn't own beautiful and sexy," Samsung lawyer William Price told the jury during the proceedings.

However, The Jury in the Courtroom

Which is located just 15 minutes away from Apple's headquarters in California - thought otherwise, awarding close to the $380m Apple sought. Samsung said it owed just $52m.

Samsung was found to have infringed Apple patents, including one that allows users to "pinch and zoom" on smartphone and tablet screens.

A separate trial to determine whether or not current Samsung devices violate Apple's patents is scheduled for March 2014.

Apple has also asked Judge Koh to consider a sales ban against all of the older Samsung models that used Apple's technology.

While Judge Koh has previously refused to issue such an injunction, a separate US Appeals Court asked her to reconsider this week.

WhatsApp Landed on Nokia Platform with Asha 501

| comments

Instant messaging application WhatsApp will now be available on the new Nokia Asha platform, starting with Asha 501.

"Starting November 21, all Nokia Asha 501 users can download the IM (instant messaging) application through a software update," the company said in a statement.

The messaging service is already available on other Asha phones, which run on the older platform.

Launched in May, Asha 501 is the first device to run on the new Nokia Asha platform.

Nokia said the new software also comes with a one-touch social sharing and a more intuitive home screen.

"Asha 501 will be the first device on the Asha Platform to support WhatsApp. The new interface comes with a single swipe camera, single touch share to Facebook and ability to track Facebook comments and likes right from your Fastlane screen," Nokia India Director Marketing Viral Oza said.

Nokia said the updated software with WhatsApp will come pre-installed in all new Nokia Asha 501 handsets, set to hit stores on December 5, 2013 and the existing users can update the software through an over-the-air update.

WhatsApp currently has over 350 million monthly active users.

Instagram App Arrives on Windows Phone With Lacking of Video Recording

| comments

After three years, Instagram has finally landed on Windows Phone. It'll be available in the Windows Phone app store later this afternoon.

But you can't use Instagram's semi-new video feature.

You also can't take photos with the app.

Yup. The Windows Phone version of Instagram, one of the most popular social networks for photos, won't let you snap a photo within the app. Instead, you can only pull in photos stored on your camera roll that you took with your phone's regular camera app.

So instead of a seamless way to share photos on Instagram, Windows Phone users have to fire up the regular camera, take the photo, then log into Instagram and upload the photo they just took.

Annoying.

Instagram calls the Windows Phone version a "beta" product, meaning its still being test for bugs. In a blog post announcing the app, the company says it will continue to add new features.

"We wanted to make Instagram available to people with Windows Phones as quickly as possible, so we focused on creating an awesome experience with Instagram's core features," the blog post reads. "We're not finished, and our team will continue developing the Windows Phone app to keep releasing features and bringing you the best Instagram possible."

We suggest they start with the ability to take photos.
